This Privacy Policy explains the technical privacy posture of Tourism Juneau, an independent informational travel guide operated by The Travel Spark Company LLC. It describes the site’s current theme-controlled behavior and the categories of processing that may arise from WordPress, hosting, security, caching, or separately configured provider services. It is not a promise that every third-party service has the same practices.
Information this theme collects
The Tourism Juneau theme does not itself create a visitor account, send a contact message, register a newsletter subscriber, process a payment, place an analytics pixel, or store an email address. The Contact Page and newsletter preview are intentionally inactive until an owner authorizes and verifies a delivery service. They must not be interpreted as functioning submission channels.
Server and security records
Like most websites, the hosting platform, web server, security tools, content-delivery systems, and WordPress may process technical records needed to deliver and protect the site. These records may include an IP address, request time, requested URL, response status, browser or device information, referrer, and security signals. Such records may be used for operations, troubleshooting, abuse prevention, availability, and legal compliance.
Cookies and local storage
The theme adds no nonessential cookie. WordPress may use cookies for signed-in administrators, preferences, comment features, or other core functions. Active security, caching, email, SEO, or provider plugins may use cookies or similar storage according to their configuration. Nonessential analytics, advertising, maps, chat, or embeds should not be enabled without an owner review and any consent controls required for the intended audience.
Tour, hotel, and affiliate services
TravelSpark, Viator, lodging providers, and related services may supply product names, photographs, prices, ratings, availability, search tools, and outbound links. Opening or interacting with one of those surfaces may send technical information to the service and may use sponsored or affiliate tracking. Tourism Juneau does not control a provider’s separate site, checkout, retention rules, or privacy policy. Review the provider’s terms before submitting personal information or completing a booking.
Email and contact
Brevo or another delivery service may be configured in the future. No theme-controlled form currently sends to it. If a public contact or newsletter path is later enabled, this Policy should be updated with the fields collected, purpose, delivery processor, retention approach, consent basis where applicable, and a tested method for requests. No successful delivery should be assumed merely because a plugin is active.
Comments, media, and accounts
If comments, public uploads, or visitor accounts are enabled later, WordPress and its extensions may process the data submitted with those features. Visitors should avoid uploading media with unintended location metadata. Administrative accounts are governed by WordPress and hosting security controls rather than this theme.
Embedded and linked material
Linked sites and embedded material may behave as though the visitor opened the external service directly. They may collect technical data, use cookies, or measure interaction under their own policies. A link does not imply that Tourism Juneau controls or endorses every statement or practice on the destination site.
Retention and disclosure
Theme-controlled inactive fields retain nothing because they submit nothing. Server, security, backup, and provider records follow the retention settings of the responsible system. Information may be disclosed to service providers that operate the site, to prevent abuse, to protect rights and safety, or when required by lawful process. The owner should periodically review those systems and keep only what is reasonably needed.
Choices and requests
Depending on location and applicable law, a person may have rights concerning access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or consent withdrawal. Those rights are not identical everywhere and may have exceptions. Because a verified public delivery channel is not yet configured, the owner must add an appropriate request method before inviting personal-data submissions.
Children
The site is general travel information and is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children. Inactive theme fields do not collect submissions. Any future account, newsletter, or contact feature requires a separate audience and legal review before activation.
Security and changes
Reasonable technical safeguards reduce risk but cannot guarantee absolute security. This Policy should be reviewed when plugins, forms, analytics, advertising, maps, chat, booking paths, or processors change. A revised date should accompany any material update.
Independent status
Tourism Juneau is not a governmental agency, official tourism authority, emergency service, transport operator, tour operator, lodging provider, or booking platform. For official or time-sensitive information, consult the responsible public agency or operator.
